At Northland Health Care Access, our vision is that all Northland residents will have access to quality health care. We uphold the dignity and value of every individual, acknowledging the diverse tapestry that shapes each person’s experience. We confront the profound injustices and disparities prevalent across various groups and individuals within our nation.
Northland Health Care Access’ mission is to coordinate quality health care for people without access through community collaboration and advocacy while prioritizing health equity for all. Through purposeful initiatives and systemic change, we strive to make a meaningful impact on our organizations, communities, and beyond.
To realize our goals of health equity and inclusion, we pledge to:
- Develop programs, partnerships, events, and communities that foster critical awareness and inspire meaningful action.
- Ensure equitable access to all our programs and services.
- Foster cultural appreciation and consciousness throughout our organization through continuous learning and transparent communication.
- Identify and dismantle inequities within our policies, systems, programs, and services.
- Devote time and resources to enhancing the diversity of leadership within our board, staff, and affiliated groups.
- Collaborate with like-minded organizations and advocate for public policies that advance our shared goals.
- Acknowledge our limitations in understanding and addressing diverse identities and experiences (including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, socioeconomic status, age, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, religion, and immigration status) and their intersections.
- Regularly revisit and revise this framework to ensure its relevance and integration into our organizational culture.
