Northland Health Alliance & NHCA Partnership

The Northland Health Alliance (NHA) was created in 2014 by local health organizations, including Northland Health Care Access, interested in working together to improve the health and quality of life of residents in the Northland.

The Northland includes the counties of Clay and Platte in the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area.

Every three years, the alliance conducts a Community Health Assessment (CHA) that brings together information from resident surveys, public health data, census reports and hospital data to identify the most critical health problems among Northland residents. This information is then used by the task forces within NHA to create initiatives and make evidence-based decisions on how to most effectively invest community resources to address these health problems.

Through perseverance, gaining community respect, collaboration, and a commitment to equity, NHCA continues to make significant strides in improving healthcare access and outcomes in the Northland region. While challenges will always need to be addressed, the organization continues to adapt and innovate in its mission to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
